BOA Life provides artist management services to musicians and DJs who want to retain their indie freedom while getting the guidance and support they need to succeed. We specialize in live electronic acts and DJs from Europe. BOA provides its artists with tour management, booking and general management services.
Our current roster consists of DJ Ipek Ipekcioglu (Turkey/Germany), Maskinöperator (Sweden) and Cassidy Haley (U.S. - Booking). While we accept unsolicited submissions, BOA maintains a limited roster in order to better serve our clients. Please take a look at our website and check out the artists we have worked with to see if you might be a fit before submitting. In general, we like to work with up-and-coming dance/indie artists, primarily in the Electro genre (though we’ve been known to have a soft spot for drum’n’bass too). We never knock it ‘til we’ve tried it, though, so feel free to contact us if you think you have something really special to offer!

In the mid-nineties, DJ İpek İpekçioğlu stormed the multilayered Berlin club scene and gradually her eclectic music and characteristic mixes turned into the foundation of a new style emerging in the clubs and nightlife - OrAsian soundfusion. Ipek's contribution to the trend was acknowledged by the widespread magazine Zitty when they ranked DJ İpek İpekçioğlu as one of Berlin’s most important cultural contributors. Since then, DJ İpek has developed herself into an exclusive Berlin export, visiting festivals and clubs all over the world: the desert Sahara of Mali, Salvador de Bahia, Stockholm, Istanbul, Glasgow, Shanghai, Peking and so many more. She has toured in Spain with Ojos de Brujos, conducted an exclusive tour throughout China and has undisputedly earned herself a reputation in the heterogeneous landscape of international nightlife.
Ipek's signature style, Eklektik BerlinIstan, is a groovy mix of Middle Eastern & Asian & Balkan folk and dance music, fusioned with Berlin electro, Breakbeatz and Pop. Through her sets, DJ İpek Ipekçioğlu takes her audience on an aural journey through the cultures and music of Turkey, North-Africa, Israel, Persia, the Balkans, Greece, and Bollywood, as well as carefully planned escapades to the UK and USA. Her hybrid characteristic sound provides surprising breaks to the steady course of club music. Ipek has djayed along artists like dZihan & Kamien, Niyaz, Goran Bregovic, Baba Zula; Hüsnü Şenlendirici, Mercan Dede and Nitin Sawney.
DJ İpek is resident at a row of popular clubs and events in Berlin: SO36, Transurban.tv, BalkanBalkanParty, Absolut Balkanissimo, Kanakwood-PostMigrantSounds, and Popdeurope. In addition to this, she regularly hosts the Re:Orient Club in Stockholm, Sweden and is one of the masterminds behind the Berlin cult club night Gayhane – House of Halay. Ipek is also the music director of the Theater and Performing Art Space Ballhaus Naunystr. Iin Berlin – Kreuzberg.
The Süddeutsche Zeitung has called Ipek a musical and political “visionary”, whose eclectic adventure journey leads immediately into a country of radical social change, far beyond the clichés and known Pop exports. Her album, Beyond Istanbul, “which is a cross-section, free of blinkers and ideology” (Rolling Stone), was voted as the album of the month by the Bavarian Radio Broadcasting’s program “World Receiver.”

“This night, that which İpek plays is the collision of the Orient and the Occident. She mixes the oriental musical heritage with electronic House and Techno sequences. This event was the first one to put oriental House and Pop music on the German club landscape(…)Turks, Arabs, Greeks, Israelis, Irans, Germans, Americans and people from other culture celebrates. They are gays, heteros, they are christians, muslims, jews, atheists and everything in between…” - Ulf Schubert, Berliner Zeitung

Maskinöperator translates to "machine operator,” an appropriate moniker for this cross-platform/cross-genre composer whose circuit-bending, 8-bit chiptunes are made utilizing any and all machines that come his way. But, this Swedish artist does not make your run-of-the-mill gameboy music. By using customized software, obsolete game-consoles and analog synths blended with modern equipment, Maskinöperator creates powerful technopop for the dancefloor. This is viable dance music with an experimental artist at the helm.
From his former melodic electropop duo, Synthetical, to his present day solo project, Maskinöperator, Bjorn Heden has played stages in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Belgium, France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy and even performed in China at an official music festival celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the European Union. Heden has shared the stage with the likes of Makossa & Megablast, Front 242 and Apoptygma Berserk; a testament to his versatility and mass appeal. With an undying devotion to experiment with sound, he blends everything from traditional folk music to techno and punk to his own style of hi-energy, dirty chiprave, with the occasional rap-lyric. Working alone or with fellow gameboy-musician Calis and singer/video-artist Mio as well as performing live with Swedish Synthpop-group Auto-Auto, Maskinöperator lives to take it to the dancefloor.

Cassidy Haley is a DOWNTOWN LA based recording artist with a diverse palate of creative endeavors that he utilizes throughout his extravagant musical and theatrical performances. His songs are emotional and candid stories, pulled from his own dark, personal journey. His aesthetic is rooted in the circus/performing arts communities of San Francisco that he grew up in; surfacing in the present with elaborate costumes, post-modern movement, complex staging and avant garde theatrics that are equal players in his captivating and fully articulated stage experience.
With a mid-wife lesbian mother from Berkeley and an electric-car making gay father from San Francisco, his unique and progressive upbringing has given him a freedom to explore all sides of himself. He’s hitchhiked barefoot across the country, participated in political actions from Washington DC to the forests of Oregon, he’s joined the Hari Krishna's in the mountains of Kentucky, and been a stripper in the seediest gay strip clubs of San Francisco.
As an openly Queer artist his mission is to express himself fully and unabashedly with the hopes that a generation of queers and anyone who feels ashamed of who they are or ridiculed by society will find some courage and strength and inspiration to be EXACTLY who they are, without shame or fear.
